Pros And Cons Of High Temp And Low Temp Dabs

Hey, guys today we are taking a look at high and low temp dabs. Now some of you might not really care or give much thought to the temperature of your dabs. But we are going to take a look at the pros and cons of each one!

Low Temp Dabs

Now in case you are wondering what temperature is classed as a low temp dab, it is anything between 470 and 600 degrees Fahrenheit.

Pros:

Well, most people are in agreement that low temp dabs are much easier on your lungs, meaning you are less likely to start coughing!

Terpenes are what gives cannabis its flavor and the lower temperature means that you get a much fuller flavor. This is usually the main reason people will dab at a lower temperature.

As the temperature is considerably lower than a high temp dab there is less chance of you burning and spoiling your wax.

Cons:

If you want to make sure that none of your oil is wasted then you will have to purchase a carb cap which will stop pooling in the nail which will lead to wastage.

Most people you ask will tell you that the high you get from a low temp dab is not quite as good as a higher temp one, but this is, of course, personal preference, some might see the mellow high as a benefit, but the majority do not.

High Temp Dabs

At 700 degrees Fahrenheit or more, high temp dabs are sure worth their name.

Pros:

You get a really great high, many people say that they actually get a real rush after taking that first hit. Some people once they have had that first high temp dab, swear that they will never go back!

Due to the much higher temperature, the wax melts at a much better and faster rate. It does not matter what kind of consistency it has, it is always going to melt much better than a low temp dab.

As the oil will be evaporating much quicker, you do not need to buy and mess around with a carb cap as there is little if any wastage at all.

Cons:

It is not as flavor rich thanks to the high heat burns off much of the terpenes (as well as THC and CBD) so if you are a real “cannabis connoisseur” you might not appreciate losing some of the rich flavors.

Due to the pretty intense heat, high temp dabbing can feel a little harsh and result in some pretty bad coughing, especially if it is your first time! But if you know about this going in you can kind of mentally prepare yourself for it.

So Which one is better?

To be honest with you there are some great pros for both high and low temp dabs, but the only way that you are going to know what is right for you is to give them both a fair trial. What works for you might not work for a buddy, it is all down to personal preference so keep an open mind and give them both a good try. That is the way you will know for sure if you prefer high or low temp.
